LRAPAC auction September 15th you can bid and buy dinner with former Edwin Edwards. Bob Merrick CEO with Latter & Blum delivered dinner for two at Galatoires. Attached is email from partner, client, friend who lives in New Orleans and upon my request of tips at dinning to impress client at Galatoires here is his reply. This is worth passing on to family: Rod,

> Good for you....he probably knows all the tricks....but, if you like garlic toasted bread, you can ask for it.....an appetizer that is great is Galatoire Gouté (3 portions of a shrimp rémoulade, a crabmeat salad, and a crawfish salad), a great salad is the Godchaux Salad..., DON'T ASK FOR A MENU, IF YOUR WAITER BRINGS ONE, DON'T OPEN IT, just ask the waiter what he likes today....if you want fish, ask what fish is best today, pompano is a favorite, trout is always good, sautéed, with a little lump crabmeat (ask how the crabmeat is first)....if you like soft shell crabs, that's a good choice, fried....I think I remember that you don't eat oysters, but the Oysters Rockefeller are great....for desert I often ordered an ice cream sundae, vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce and crushed walnuts on top....OK, ask if Harold is in, he is their longest serving waiter, from Ville Platte, 45 years or so...his son Billy also is a waiter, tell Harold I send my warmest regards....ask to see Jon (or John, don't know which), he the shortest waiter there, ask him for his latest joke, and have one ready to tell him.....of course you want to eat downstairs, which means, normally, someone has to get in line early (only 70 seats downstairs, when they are gone you are out of luck, you can have someone stand in line for you, Hunter will know how to work that)......that should get you started, if you have any questions, call me....and let me know how it goes.

Email from listeners: You are invited to attend a major announcement by Governor Bobby Jindal regarding an infrastructure project that will have a significant positive impact on Rapides Parish and the central Louisiana region. The event will take place on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in Leesville at the Old Courthouse, located 201 South 3rd Street, Leesville, LA 71446-4375. Jim Clinton

Bob ask question was I successful last week at Sheriff Sale.

Guest last week was Secretary Steven Moret director economic development for State of La. And this week in studio is Rick Haase President of Latter & Blum Inc.

Every Deal has a tale / tail.

Pel-State Oil Co., Inc. (333 Texas St., Suite 1000Shreveport, LA 71101) to Lott Oil Co., Inc. (P O Box 17, Natchitoches, LA 71458) - Parcel A of Calhoun Commercial Park, et al, $6,400,000.00. This is at what I call the cracker barrel interchange and what is recorded is more than one sale.  Lott Oil purchased several stores from Pel-State and recorded them in each Parish where transactions occurred. One of the sales was Texaco Store at I-49 and Calhoun Property

(+3) Rod’s economic indicator perfect score is 5. When top rating of 5 appears week after week I will share with our audience, that “Green Shots” is here and recovery is in full swing.

Legal recorder data for five business day September 5th though September 9, 2011

(1)Total of 40 closed deals for the week has positive score

(2) At least one new home sale for the week has positive score

(3) At least one subdivision lot sale for the week garners positive score

(4) Number of lender sales in market place is less than 5% of the total market sales for the week.

(5) Two random residential sales compared to average prices for 2008, 2009 and 2010 that demonstrate increase prices.

(-1) Total sales looking for 40 closed deals from previous week market provided volume of 9,018,415 with 32 sales if you deduct $6,400,000 total volume is $2,618,415

(+1) Random sales comparison: We track average sales price in certain subdivision for 2008 through 2010 and compare it to a sale this.

Dixie D Willard (18519 Water Scene Trail, Cypress, TX 77429) to William C Firnberg, Sr. (5445 Provine Place, # 301, Alex., LA 71303) - Unit 11, Charleston Condominium (4406 Charleston Circle, Alex., LA 71303), $100,000.00. Only four sales in since January 2008 average price mid $70,000 sale we are tracking this week is $100,000.

Melot Construction, LLC (115 2nd St., Colfax, LA 71417) to Huy L & Tram T Nguyen (1555 Parkview Dr., Alex., LA 71303) - Lot 40, North Park Village, Phase 1, $156,800.00. Since January 31, 2008 there have been 11 homes sales with average price of $128,810 sale we were tracking this week is $156,800.

MLS report shows Sales though August 2009 average sales price of $172,921 end of August 2010 $146,789 or 15% decline then August 2011 average price was $163,014or 11% increase this just cannot be right. I am looking at the report thinking it is year to date and then realize it is sales in August only so be careful how you read accurate data. What does connect with this report is in rapides parish we had 95 sales in August 2011 and 82 in 2010 and 85 in 2009 so pace for One month has improved.
